Myth #80: We should allow kids to learn if they want to learn

My blogmate has pushed a series of misguided posts about what he perceives as misconceptions regarding the schooling process. Because he is critical of our flawless schooling system, he is obviously wrong 110% of the time. As a fake teacher, I'm obviously the purfect person to disprove his points. I'm also 110% confident that my conclusive nonsense will be so flawless that nobody will make the mistake of believing his more rational arguments.

There are some people out there who have the guts to insist that our purfect schools somehow failed to meat their needs. Some even dare to complain that schooling has interfered with their learning. This is obviously nonsense because nobody wants to learn. If they did, we wouldn't be needed for such things as teaching children how to walk and talk. Okay, so maybe these aren't the two greatest examples imaginable.

The point is, nobody wants to learn, and this has almost nothing to do with us finding a way to make a natural process as distasteful as possible. Not wanting to learn is a legitimate part of every single decision we make.

We must embrace the most authoritarian and undesirable approach possible to ensure all children can learn the exact beliefs and opinions that we demand... And facts. How could I forget about facts?

Saying that we should allow children to learn misses the point. If we allowed children to learn, it would only benefit the children whose existence we refuse to acknowledge. Nobody should be allowed to learn because not everybody wants to.
