For the Children Defense

Teachers and their supporters have developed numerous defenses that have become overused. These defenses almost seem conditioned due to their tendency to show up just about every time that they encounter the appropriate trigger.

Trigger:

This comes up pretty much every time someone questions the motives of teachers.

Argument:

Everything teachers do is "for the children."

Flaws:

The primary motivation for the antics of the teaching profession is arrogance. Teachers love to think that society would collapse without them. In reality, their job duties are far more likely to harm children than help. Since they have a strong tendency to take education for granted, they do not see the anti-educational aspects of their jobs. They actually believe that they are helping children, even though they are harming children to satisfy their own egos.
