Collegiate Push

It used to be that people were allowed to contribute regardless of how they were educated. Then people had to be high school graduates in order to contribute. Now, we insist that even that isn’t enough.

Even people involved in the K-12 system are now insisting that high school no longer prepares people for the real world. They have completely abandoned any attempts to develop truly capable graduates. In their minds, K-12 revolves around the idea that higher grades can help their students get into better colleges.

Much like mandatory high school did absolutely nothing for education, college doesn’t seem to be helping. College graduates seem to be no more talented than kindergartners these days, and mankind has reached an era of stagnation. Things have gotten bad, and the collegiate push is regressive. If we follow this path, we will eventually give up on people who only make it through college. Then jobs that used to be available to people who never made it through the K-12 system (as long as they were well educated) will start requiring doctorates.

Our push for increased schooling does little more than increase mindlessness and delay the age in which citizens are considered suitable for the workforce. I don’t view either of those things as positives. I would rather push for increased tolerance towards those who pursue a healthy education. I would rather push for decreased schooling.
