I have discussed the myth of the uneducated voter in the past. I am among those who differentiate between schooling and education. Democrats have pushed the idea that educated voters are more likely to support their party. What they really mean is that voters who acquire a college degree are more likely to support their party.
I'm not going to spend too much time repeating myself. Let's just imagine for a moment that we can accept their definition of educated voters. Why is it so important to divide voters into these groups? In short, they are trying to manipulate our votes. If we want to appear educated, we should mindlessly vote however they tell us. If we don't vote their way, we will appear uneducated.
A lot of people think there is a correlation between this perspective of education and intelligence. Personally, I find that to be completely ridiculous. You don't have to buy a piece of paper to be intelligent. Similarly, there are plenty of imbeciles with abundant credentials.
How would I expect intelligent individuals to vote? They would use their ability to think to form their own political beliefs and opinions. They would then take the information they have to make the best decision.
Let me provide a comparison. How would I expect stupid people to vote? They would struggle to come to conclusions on their own. They would be dependent on others to tell them what to think. It is highly probable that they will side with one of the two major parties and allow that party to dictate their votes.
True intellectuals will diverge in their voting preferences. Mindless voters will converge. Democrats expect college graduates to embrace mindless voting tendencies. If you want to appear to believe in an educated society, they demand that you shut off your brain.
Education has taken on contradictory meanings. Some of us reject using the term to refer to our schools. It can be stated that our schools are at war with education. This blog was initially developed for the purpose of sharing some quick (rather than conclusive) pro-education/anti-schooling thoughts. This has been expanded to include a voice from the other side of the war. Admittedly, this voice was picked for its tendency to show the absurdities of the pro-schooling/anti-educational side.
