Over the weekend, our class was given some busywork. I mean homework. Something rare happened, and we were explicitly told that this assignment was optional. I made the mistake of not realizing that this optional assignment was mandatory. When asked for my homework, I had nothing to give. I got a zero on my assignment, and my grade suffered as a result. Next time I have an optional assignment, I will know better.
