Work Ethic Defense

Teachers and their supporters have developed numerous defenses that have become overused. These defenses almost seem conditioned due to their tendency to show up just about every time that they encounter the appropriate trigger.

Trigger:

This is a very common defense when anyone insists that teachers are lazy.

Argument:

Anyone who thinks teachers are lazy have never observed the profession.

Flaws:

Teaching is one of the most observed professions in existence. Accusations of laziness are almost always based on personal observations (although behind-the-scenes work is not always taken into consideration). This argument is also based off of a generalization. The work ethic within the teaching profession is variable.

Misconception #49: Those who claim teachers are lazy have never observed the profession
