Ageism is foundational to the American schooling system. American citizens are deprived of fundamental rights and freedoms entirely for the crime of being the wrong age. In particular, school-aged children are expected to give up their individuality, their right to think for themselves, and the right to pursue the educations that are right for them.
The teaching profession systematically utilizes emotional abuse to destroy independent thought. There's a reason that I openly refer to the process as mental genocide. They also force many children into various forms of involuntary servitude.
I'm not a fan of hate crime laws. These laws provide intentional unequal treatment by creating protected classes that are treated differently from others. In the case of schools, it's clear that children are being targeted. By the logic of hate crime laws, an argument could certainly be made that teachers aggressively promote and act upon anti-child hatred.
Realistically speaking, this classification will never happen. We allow the Democrats to define what qualifies as hate. The NEA and AFT, which are organizations representing the teaching profession, practically own the Democratic party. There is no way that they would support labelling their own actions as hate.
If we took a more neutral approach, there would be plenty of reason to view the actions of teachers as hate crimes. They are harming a group, children, purely for being members of that group. Some of these actions should be viewed as criminal, such as actively and repeatedly assaulting mental health. From my perspective, I have absolutely no problem with labelling the NEA and AFT as anti-child hate groups.
While I'm at it, you should see how horribly teachers treat students who maintain any degree of individuality whatsoever. Teachers are downright hostile to individuals. If we treated individuals as a group, the NEA and AFT could also be classified as anti-individual hate groups.
Education has taken on contradictory meanings. Some of us reject using the term to refer to our schools. It can be stated that our schools are at war with education. This blog was initially developed for the purpose of sharing some quick (rather than conclusive) pro-education/anti-schooling thoughts. This has been expanded to include a voice from the other side of the war. Admittedly, this voice was picked for its tendency to show the absurdities of the pro-schooling/anti-educational side.
