One of my many problems with my time in school is the highly discriminatory nature of the teaching profession. Ageism is foundational to the system. They also discriminate against any students who maintain even a little sense of individuality.
How could teachers be so discriminatory against certain groups? Hatred. Teachers despise children. They despise individuals.
The NEA and AFT are built around hate. They spew hate-filled rhetoric. They engage in activities that are downright destructive to certain segments of the American population. In some cases, the mental harm caused by this profession has lethal consequences. By many definitions, these are anti-child and anti-individual hate groups. Judging from recent antics from these despicable organizations, they are also aiming their hate at parents.
There is some good news for the NEA and AFT. We have allowed their allies to define hate. Children and individuals are not classified as protected groups. By these definitions, the NEA and AFT are not hate groups because their hate is approved by those in power regarding this issue.
Personally, I think harming people of a certain group for characteristics beyond their control should qualify as hate. This includes children. I would also expand this to characteristics that should not be held against people. This includes individuality. If you define a hate group as a group that promotes hate, the NEA and AFT definitely qualify.
