Stereotypical Student: How I Learn XX

This intentionally corny series of posts makes fun of the schools by providing an obviously fictional diary of a student who fits many stereotypes.

Entry # 50

As a stereotypical student, I have no problems meeting the low expectations set by my teachers. One of my classmates, however, has been struggling. In English, we were learning that a noun is a person, place, or thing. When my teacher asked what a noun is, this classmate instead responded, "I've already answered this question a million times. I'm not going to do it again." By getting the answer wrong, his grade dropped below passing.

He failed to raise his grade before the end of the semester. That means he failed the class. He's doing better this semester on lessons built on top of our first semester work, but that's no excuse for an F.

Lately, this classmate has been whining about being asked to repeat the full year. He failed the first semester. The only possible explanation for this is that he doesn't know the information and can't build off it. If he wants to progress, he needs to spend a full year to address his mistake. He needs to repeat the class to fix his concerns with too much repetition. It's not like he will refuse to answer the same question again if we ask him one more time. If he does? The third time's the charm. Or the fourth or fifth or...
