Drug addiction is a disease. Some idiuts claim that it's self-inflicted, but that's clearly not true. Drug addicts are all 100% victims of the nefarious plots carried out by the inanimate objects that we call drugs.
This is precisely why it's wrong to stigmatize harming yourself. Recreational use is never a choice. It's caused by a disease, and that disease is caused by... I'm not sure how the liberals will dictate I finish that sentence. All I know is that it's never a choice. We know that because we say so.
By contrast, pursuing a so-called education outside of our precious schools is a choice. Choices need to be stigmatized. We don't exactly want people make their own decisions. That would be completely authoritarian based on current liberal definitions of that term. Also, it's an unhealthy choice, unlike recreational use of wonderful drugs.
How is education unhealthy? It's actually quite simple. We openly and actively discriminate against the well educated on the basis that they lack mindless drone certification. We are causing self-education to be unhealthy. What are we supposed to do? Stop harming people who deviate from the path? That would be insane. It's far better to remain harmful than to become tolerant.
Again, people who choose to use drugs recreationally, I mean victims of addiction, are victims. Those who we openly and actively discriminate against are not. Given a choice between stigmatizing addiction and independent learning, there's no question that education is far worse than using drugs. Only rational people would be dumb enough to claim otherwise. You can see this in the almighty teaching profession. Which do you think we are more likely to engage in, recreational use of wonderful drugs, or the evils of meaningful education?
Education has taken on contradictory meanings. Some of us reject using the term to refer to our schools. It can be stated that our schools are at war with education. This blog was initially developed for the purpose of sharing some quick (rather than conclusive) pro-education/anti-schooling thoughts. This has been expanded to include a voice from the other side of the war. Admittedly, this voice was picked for its tendency to show the absurdities of the pro-schooling/anti-educational side.
