Stereotypical Student: History I

This intentionally corny series of posts makes fun of the schools by providing an obviously fictional diary of a student who fits many stereotypes.

Entry #35

We learned today why freedom is wrong. Our history teacher shared examples of people who fought for freedom against oppressive governments. According to our history textbook, such individuals were actually sacrificing their rights, such as the right to continue living.

History is clearly factual. There is no way that my teacher could possibly be lying, injecting opinion, or selecting information based off an agenda. The textbook backs this up. So does the idea that the facts presented were based off an objective theme.

I have one classmate who was skeptical. I don't know why. There was nothing left for skepticism. Think of the consequences. He will now be less likely to trust my completely honest teacher even when there are more important lessons to learn. Could you imagine if someone started second guessing socialism? How about someone questioning the government's increasing control over what we are allowed to say? There could even be implications for less important lessons such as an anti-murder message. All of this would be because my classmate made the mistake of not trusting my teacher's obviously factual narrative.
