Why I think the Democrats went with Cardona

Miguel Cardona, our Secretary of Education, is a complete embarrassment to our country. He has repeatedly defied common sense regarding education. For example, he has shown that he doesn't understand the difference between learning and memorizing. Even worse, he has shown a complete lack of comprehension of the role learning plays in the educational process. He has mindlessly parroted off easily debunked talking points while failing to contribute any thoughts of his own. His solution to our nation's educational crisis is to throw even more taxpayer funds at ideas that we know don't work. There is a reason that I openly refer to him as Miguel the Incompetent.

How did we end up with someone so incompetent as our Secretary of Education? I'm not a mind reader. I can only speculate.

Some people might think that diversity would explain this. If you put minority status over what someone has to offer, you might get not end up with the best candidate. In this case, diversity is an argument that is very easy to defeat.

I think it's safe to say that most members of the Hispanic/Latino community know more that the nothing we have seen from Miguel the Incompetent about education. If they wanted someone with a minority status in that position, it should have been easy to find someone with that status who knows more than Miguel. In all honesty, I don't think it's easy to find someone as incompetent as Cardona.

It seems as though you have to search for incompetence to find someone like Cardona. Perhaps that will provide the answer to this situation. The most logical explanation I can find for the Democrats selecting someone who is that incompetent is if they were seeking incompetence.

Some people might struggle with the idea that Democrats would seek incompetence, but this actually makes a lot of sense. The NEA and AFT are big donors to the Democratic party. These organizations represent teachers who were trained within context of the disastrous conventional schooling model. If we created a better model, a lot of these teachers would likely be out of work.

Because of his incompetence, Miguel the Incompetent poses absolutely no threat to the status quo. This means that he poses no threat to major donors of the Democratic party such as the NEA and AFT. Incompetence in this role can certainly benefit the Democrats.

Again, I can't read minds. I can't be certain, but this makes a lot of sense. Instead of selecting Miguel the Incompetent despite his incompetence, they might have selected him because of his incompetence.
