Misconception #64: The schools are failing

Many people seem to be in a panic because they feel that our schools are failing. They point out numerous problems with the schools and the declining quality of education in America. While it is undeniable that their arguments have some validity, there is a major flaw in what they are saying.

Our schooling system was designed to destroy thought and individuality. Education was never the goal. History, observation, and common sense should be more than enough to back me on this point. As we have become more reliant on the schools, society has become increasingly conformist and increasingly mindless. The school have been highly successful in what they were designed to do.

The arguments people make regarding perceived failure of our schools is rooted in a misunderstanding of the purpose of the process. People believe that education is the primary reason that our schools exist. They believe that educational harm is a sign of failure. In reality, it's a sign of success.

A lot of people show concerns regarding what would happen if the schools failed. For those of us who know the truth about our schools, there is a far bigger concern. What if the schools don't fail? In this case, success is far scarier than failure. I wish I could say our schools are failing, but it's simply not true.
