Selling your soul

What if you gave up what makes you who you are in exchange for money. Wouldn’t that qualify as selling your soul? Pay attention to what the schools actually want. This is what they are asking from their students.

We all have unique strengths that make us special. As I have said before, the schools try to teach all students the exact same thing in the exact same way at the exact same time. They have to aim low in order for their standards to be attainable by all. Anything beyond that is irrelevant and potentially in their way. In order to succeed in school, we are expected to sacrifice who we are. We must sacrifice our souls.

The schools use money as persuasion. They emphasize how important schooling is for our financial futures and how important money is to live a decent life. They promise money in our futures in exchange for who we are.

We are giving up our souls in exchange for money. When I’m talking about how we are expected to sell our souls to the schools, I’m not being figurative. We are literally selling our souls.
